One of Faelix’s upstream transit providers has announced an emergency maintenance window to migrate customers onto a new router in Manchester. This should address problems that the current router has been having for several weeks now. We will be taking our BGP sessions to that provider down in advance of their maintenance, and restoring them only once we have heard from their network operations team that their maintenance is complete.

The provider’s ailing BGP router just unexpectedly crashed. We have taken our sessions down earlier than planned as a result.

Our provider has taken the decision to bring forward tonight’s maintenance seeing as the equipment Faelix was connected to was due for replacement. We are now performing some testing with them to aid this process.

We have finished testing services and brought the affected provider circuit back into production. Faelix will be closely monitoring performance over the coming weeks to ensure good quality of service.
